Mini golf

It absolutely lobbed it down this morning as forecast. So we went to the indoor pool for swimming and diving board fun. After many a front somersault and george playing in the baby pool, the weather seemed to clear. So we went to the lake and played a bit of golf and a walk around the shops. Our last full day here, we have had a really relaxing time but looking forward to getting back home.

Raining today

It is forecast wet weather over the next few days. It rained lightly today so we had a little walk into the town to the playground. George is responding to little commands today, it is amazing to watch him. Bless.

A quiet morning

We made an early start today as the forecast said the afternoon would be mostly thunderstorms. The lakeside waterpark was empty and quiet and we enjoyed a peaceful swim. We decided to try some flips from the diving boards into the lake. The kids made me do it first so i did a front somersault off of the spring board. Then we did it off of the two other boards in the picture.

Enjoying the sun

After the freak weather we had two days ago it is great to see the sun again. A beautiful clear day and we are down by the lake soaking up some rays. George has enjoyed the water slide and paddling in the lake,

Paragliding world cup

Over the last 3 days we have watched the gliders come down off the mountain side. They do all manner of tricks and then land on a small inflatable platform on the lake, great fun. Some misjudge it and get wet.

Down by the lake

This morning we had a walk to the lake and george threw some sticks in. We saw the preparations for the lakeside festival today.

Hail

Hail

Hail storm

Wow that was lucky! We decided to set off back to the hotel as a great mass of dark brooding clouds spilled over the tops of the mountains to the north. It was still hot and sunny and we strolled back. Everyone in the water park seemed to have the same idea and were leaving on mass. We also noticed people being urged to come back in with boats, and lifeguard speedboats rushing to and fro. As we neared the hotel we saw the clouds billowing down the hillside. And then came a huge gust of wind that knocked off pictures in the lobby. We were in the lift as it started to batter the hotel. Within 20 minutes the weather had turned from scorching hot to freezing hail the size of broad beans.

Morning from the mountains

Another beautiful sunny day and this is the the view from our balcony. The peak is schmittenhoe the closest highest point. We have just had breakfast and george has gone for a sleep, it is meant to be a hot one today so another day at the waterpark.

Glacier

Beautiful views across the lake towards the glacier. Look at the top right of the photo you can see mountains with snow on, that is the glacier. Helen and i have skied up there. Amazing place.

The waterpark

It is just as idyllic as i remember. What a lovely warm day to get us started. George has loved the different pools and paddling in the lake, even though they are very cold!

Zell am see

We had some good news at breakfast as we heard that helens case is being sent back. Hopefully it will be with us tomorrow. So we visited a few shops so helen could get a dress and a bikini.
